Filip van As has been working at the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management since 2019. He is one of the initiators of the platform Space for Walking (2019), of which he is the coordinator. Van As is a former local politician, who began his career as a civil servant. He has a MA degree in law and a BA degree in history, both earned from Leiden University.
