Oscar Edmundo Díaz
Oscar has over 27 years of experience leading the planning and implementation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, e-mobility, non-motorized transport and Road Safety measures in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. He has worked twice in the public sector as Special Advisor on Mobility to Enrique Penalosa, Mayor of Bogota, Colombia (1998-2000 and 2016-2019). He led the creation of a new unbundled business model for TransMilenio. Thanks to this, Bogota has today 1,485 electric buses in operation. Mr. Díaz worked closely with Bogota’s Department of Mobility on reducing road crashes and fatalities in the city, which led to a drop in 14% of deaths, many related to the reduction of speed limits throughout the city. Since 2021, Oscar is the FIA Foundation Regional Advisor for Latin America.
