Paul Bickelbacher studied geography and worked as an urban and transportation planner. In 2008 he was for the first time elected as city councilor in Munich and is still in office. He was involved to get the Walk 21 conference in 2013 to Munich. Now he is also on the national board of the german pedestrian oraganization FUSS e.V.
